A Different Kind of EV Deserves the Right Transport
Polestar vehicles occupy an interesting corner of the EV market. They combine Scandinavian design, performance and technology with a relatively small presence on American roads compared with mass-market electric vehicles. That can make transporting one a little different from shipping an everyday sedan or SUV.
Autos On The Go provides nationwide Polestar auto transport for owners, dealerships, collectors and businesses. We arrange both open and enclosed shipping for the Polestar 2, Polestar 3, Polestar 4 and the limited-production Polestar 1.
Whether you’re relocating across the country, purchasing a pre-owned Polestar several states away or moving an EV between seasonal residences, we coordinate the shipment from pickup through delivery.

Shipping a Polestar Electric Vehicle
Electric vehicles don’t require an entirely different type of car carrier, but they do benefit from a transport company that understands what is being loaded.
Polestars are relatively heavy vehicles because of their battery packs. They also have model-specific dimensions, wheel and tire configurations, and ground clearances that need to be considered when matching the vehicle with a carrier.
The Polestar 2, for example, is a relatively compact fastback at approximately 181 inches long. The Polestar 3 is a substantially larger SUV at nearly 193 inches long and more than 77 inches wide before its mirrors are included.
Those differences matter when a carrier is planning deck position, weight distribution and available space.
Before dispatching your vehicle, Autos On The Go provides the carrier with the correct vehicle information so the driver knows exactly what is being transported.
Battery Charge Before Transport
A Polestar does not need a full battery to be shipped.
The vehicle only needs enough charge for loading, unloading and repositioning if necessary. Avoid handing the vehicle over with an extremely low state of charge, particularly for longer shipments where unexpected delays can occur.
The car should also be operational unless it has specifically been booked as an inoperable vehicle.
Ground Clearance and Loading
Certain Polestar configurations have lower ground clearance or performance-oriented wheels and tires. Loading angles become especially important on lower vehicles.
If your Polestar has been lowered, modified or fitted with non-standard equipment, let us know when requesting your quote. We can account for those changes before assigning the carrier.

Polestar Models We Transport
Polestar 2 Auto Transport
The Polestar 2 is the model many American drivers first associate with the brand. Its liftback design and relatively compact dimensions make it straightforward to accommodate on most standard multi-car carriers.
Open transport is typically the most economical choice for a Polestar 2. Enclosed shipping is also available for owners who prefer additional protection from road debris and exposure during transit.
We can arrange transport for standard Polestar 2 vehicles as well as Dual Motor, Performance Pack and BST editions.
Polestar 3 Auto Transport
The Polestar 3 brings a larger luxury SUV into the lineup and has a particularly interesting connection to the American market: production began in South Carolina in 2024.
Its wider body, large battery and available 21- and 22-inch wheel configurations make accurate vehicle information particularly important when arranging transport.
For owners with high-specification or performance-equipped Polestar 3s, enclosed transportation may be worth considering, especially for long-distance moves.
Polestar 4 Auto Transport
The Polestar 4 combines SUV proportions with a lower coupe-like profile. Like the Polestar 3, it is a substantial EV with a large battery and available performance configurations.
Both open and enclosed transport can be arranged depending on the vehicle, route and owner’s preference.
Polestar 1 Enclosed Transport
The Polestar 1 deserves different treatment.
Only 1,500 examples of Polestar’s original high-performance hybrid grand tourer were produced globally, making it considerably rarer than the EVs that followed it.
For a Polestar 1, we generally recommend enclosed auto transport. Enclosed carriers provide greater protection from weather and road debris while also being better suited to rare, collectible and higher-value vehicles.
How Much Does It Cost to Ship a Polestar?
There isn’t a single flat rate for Polestar car shipping.
Pricing depends primarily on:
- Pickup and delivery locations
- Total transport distance
- Polestar model and configuration
- Open or enclosed carrier
- Vehicle condition
- Seasonal demand
- Carrier availability along the route
- Pickup flexibility
A shipment between major metropolitan areas with frequent carrier traffic will often cost less per mile than transportation to or from a rural or difficult-to-service location.
The best way to determine the cost is to price the actual route rather than rely on generic per-mile estimates.
Autos On The Go provides quotes based on current transport conditions and the specific vehicle being shipped.
Buying a Polestar Out of State
The used EV market has made it increasingly common to find the right vehicle hundreds or even thousands of miles from home.
If you’ve purchased a Polestar from an out-of-state dealership, online seller or private owner, you don’t necessarily need to fly out and drive it home.
We can coordinate pickup directly with the seller or dealership and arrange transportation to your home.
This is particularly useful with Polestar because inventory and support locations are not distributed as densely as those of larger automotive brands. A buyer may find the exact color, configuration or pre-owned vehicle they want far outside their local market.
Moving a Polestar Between States
Polestar owners also use auto transport for permanent relocations, corporate moves, seasonal residences and long-distance moves where adding hundreds or thousands of highway miles to the vehicle doesn’t make sense.
Autos On The Go ships vehicles throughout the continental United States, including major EV markets in Florida, California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and the Washington, D.C. region.
Door-to-door transport means the carrier will generally pick up and deliver as close to the requested addresses as safely and legally possible. If a residential street cannot accommodate a large auto transporter, the driver will coordinate a nearby accessible meeting point.
We arrange transportation for electric vehicles ranging from everyday EVs to high-performance and luxury models, including Polestar, Tesla, Rivian and Lucid vehicles.
If you’re shipping a Polestar 2, Polestar 3, Polestar 4 or Polestar 1, tell us where it’s going and when you’d like it picked up.
We’ll take it from there.
